TGAM launches push();, a new programme for technological art and open-source imaginaries

By The Generative Art Museum

The Generative Art Museum is pleased to announce the launch of push();, a new support programme for artists working at the intersection of art, technology, creative coding and open-source culture.

Conceived as an atelier for art, technology and open-source imaginaries, push(); seeks to help existing digital art projects move beyond their initial stages and reach their full artistic, technical and professional potential.

Through an open call, three projects will be selected to take part in a sixteen-week programme combining personalised mentorship, specialised training, technical guidance and professional development.

Supporting projects that already exist

push(); is aimed at projects that have already begun but require time, resources or external guidance to evolve. Rather than encouraging participants to start from scratch, the programme focuses on strengthening works that already have a defined concept, prototype or line of research.

Selected artists will work with TGAM and a network of professionals to identify the specific needs of their projects. Depending on each proposal, the process may address areas such as artistic development, creative coding, electronics, interaction design, digital fabrication, production planning, documentation, communication, exhibition formats and long-term sustainability.

The programme is not conceived as a traditional residency. Most of the mentoring process will take place online, allowing participants to combine it with their existing professional and personal responsibilities. Occasional sessions or production activities may take place at Roca Umbert Fàbrica de les Arts when required by the projects.

Time, resources and professional support

Each selected project will receive:

  • €1,500 in artist fees

  • Up to €1,250 for production and exhibition costs

  • Sixteen weeks of personalised mentorship

  • Access to specialised training and professional guidance

  • Support in preparing the project for its public presentation

The programme will conclude with the exhibition or public presentation of the three selected works, creating an opportunity to share the results of the process with audiences and professionals from the cultural and technological sectors.

Technology as a shared creative space

push(); places particular emphasis on creative coding and open-source culture, understanding technology not simply as a production tool, but as a space for experimentation, critical reflection and collective knowledge.

The programme welcomes practices that question the systems, devices and infrastructures surrounding us, as well as projects that propose alternative relationships between technology, society, bodies and the environment.

Through push();, TGAM aims to support artists during one of the most complex stages of artistic production: the transition from an initial idea or prototype into a coherent, technically viable and publicly presentable work.

The programme continues TGAM’s mission to promote generative art and creative coding, foster collaboration between artists and technologists, and create opportunities for experimentation with new artistic tools and methodologies.

Open call now available
